Clouded Leopard

There are two species, the Sunda Clouded Leopard (Neofelis diardi) and the Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa)
  • Status: Vulnerable, and population is decreasing. 
  • Conservation Threats: Clouded leopards prefer closed forest, and their habitat in Southeast Asia is undergoing the world's fastest deforestation rate. The clouded leopard is hunted for their pelts and their bones are used for medicinal purposes. They are also captured from the wild for the pet trade. 
  • Interesting Fact: Relative to its size the clouded leopard has the largest canine teeth of any feline.
